Q: What is the Lightning Framework?
A: The Lightning Framework is a UI framework for developing dynamic web apps for mobile and desktop devices. It's a modern framework for building single-page applications engineered for growth. It supports partitioned multi-tier component development that bridges the client and service, using JavaScript on the client side and Apex on the server side. 

Q: What are components? 
A: Components are self-contained, and reusable units of an app. They represent a reusable section of the UI, and can range in granularity from a single line of text to a mini-app. You can assemble and configure components to form an app. A component can contain other components, as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or any other Web-enabled code. This enables you to build apps with sophisticated UIs. Read this document to learn more about Lightning Components.

Q: Where can I use Lightning Components?
A: Salesforce provides several ways that you can use Lightning components. You can:
  • Create a Standalone app - A standalone app comprises components that uses your Salesforce data, and can be used independent of the Salesforce1 app.
  • Create Lightning Components for Salesforce1 - Make your components available in the Salesforce1 mobile app. 
  • Customize Salesforce1 with Lightning Extensions (Pilot) - Make your components available in the Salesforce1 mobile app. 
Q: Where can I learn more about building, and listing components on the AppExchange?
A: Read this document to learn more about building and listing components on the AppExchange. 

Q: How can I list my component on the AppExchange?
A: You can list your component through the Publishing Console in the Partner Community. 

Q: How can I access the Publishing Console?
A: You can access the Publishing Console through the Publishing tab of the Partner Community. If you don't see the Publishing tab, it means you don't have the permission to access it. If this is the case, reach out to your Partner Community administrator to grant you the "Manage Listings" permission. 

Q: How can I connect my packaging organization to the AppExchange?
A: To publish a listing on the AppExchange, first connect the packaging organization, which is the organization that contains your packaged app or component. Follow these steps to connect your packaging organization:
  1. Log in to the Partner Community.
  2. On the Publishing page, click the Organizations tab.
  3. Click Connect Organization.
  4. Enter the login credentials for the organization that contains the package you want to list.
  5. Click Submit.
If the AppExchange finds any packages, they appear on the Packages tab on the Publishing page. From the Packages tab, create an app or component listing, or begin the security review.

Q: How much is the security review fee for Lightning Components? 
A: If your package only contains Lightning Components, you are eligible for a discount of $1900, which means your security review fee will only be $800! If you have additional questions or concerns, please submit this case.

Q: Is it possible to access my listing(s) on a mobile device?
A: Yes! You can manage your listing(s) on a mobile device.
