Submit for Business Approval

One of the last steps to take before getting your AppExchange solution to market is submitting for Business Approval. This important step provides you with the opportunity to discuss your business and product with the AppExchange Partner Program team. We are here to help and want to make sure that we understand your plan, are fully aligned, and are working towards a common goal. Review the steps and resources below to navigate Business Approval and launch on AppExchange shortly after.

About the Business Application Process
This process starts with a self-service partner application path on the Partner Community -- no documents needed. Upon submitting your application, our team is notified immediately to review your plan. The self-service application process is a breeze with our guided wizard process. You will also have transparency into the status of your application after submitting, so you can track the stage of your application at all times.

Submit Your Business Plan

You can start entering information for your business approval application as soon as you have it, in fact, we encourage it. Store drafts, collaborate on it with other people from your team, and submit whenever you are ready. To get started:

1. Open the Publishing Console in the Partner Community
2. Create an AppExchange listing
3. Go to the “Business Plan” tab

After you submit your business plan, we’ll review the submission and the AppExchange Partner Program team will reach out with feedback or requests for additional information. Once the submission is approved, it’s time for your review call.

Need help navigating? Check out the Business Plan section of the ISVforce Guide for instructions on submitting your plan.

Prepare for Your Review Call

Prepare for Your Review Call

The Business Review call is your chance to discuss your business and product with the AppExchange Partner Program team. We know you want to get to market quickly, so it’s important to come prepared for the call. Here are some of the points we will cover to ensure smooth sailing:
- Is your solution free or paid according to program policies?
- Have you selected the right app/solution type based on your product functionality and target customer?
- Is there any functionality in the application/solution that is prohibited by the Partner Program Agreement?
- Are there any red flags in your application/solution architecture?
- If your application/solution is paid, has the compliance portion of your business plan been filled out entirely and accurately?

It’s also important to note what we will not cover:
- Detailed evaluation of your business plan
- Detailed vetting of your application’s architecture or security
- An assessment of the ability of your company or solution to succeed on AppExchange.

During the call, the AppExchange Partner Program team will raise any issues that need to be addressed and share next steps. If we do identify any issues, you’ll have the opportunity to address them and resubmit. After all is clear, the next step will be to sign your partnership agreement and launch on AppExchange!
