As Salesforce CPQ is a native application hosted on the Salesforce Platform, all Salesforce partners are Salesforce CPQ partners by proxy, however there are important items to keep in mind in order to be effective and competent partners in pre-sales and implementation Salesforce CPQ.

Product Training
The currently available Salesforce CPQ product training is provided via 2 different courses:
Salesforce CPQ Admin Essentials for New Administrators (CPQ 201) - 2 Days / Instructor-led or Self-led class- CPQ 201 covers Salesforce CPQ core functionality including setting up products, bundles, product and pricing rules; out-of-box configuration of discounting, pricing methods and output document generation; and essential elements of the contract creation, renewal and amendment process.

- CPQ 211 is designed for administrators who will be involved in implementing Salesforce CPQ solutions in a customer-facing role; and solution architects, implementation consultants and developers seeking to understand full capabilities in order to formulate technical solutions within Salesforce CPQ.

Certification
Salesforce CPQ Specialist Certification
The Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist credential is designed for individuals who have experience implementing the Salesforce CPQ solution. This credential is a great way for individuals to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in designing, building, and implementing quoting flows through the Salesforce CPQ solution. Once credentialed, Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialists will have proven their mastery of building bundle configurations, pricing, output documents, and renewals and amendments. While Salesforce CPQ is similar to the look and feel to its platforms (Sales or Service Cloud), the implementation methodology, architecture decisions and planning around best-practices differ greatly. To help get started, we strongly encourage new partners to incorporate support hours from our internal services team to help provide a cadence of architectural support and technical guidance throughout the project. Q: We are new and starting our first implementation, what steps should we know to get started?
A:Ensure that your project team contains at least one CPQ211 trained and/or one CPQ Specialist Certified resource prior. For either scenario, we strongly recommend building additional hours for support from Salesforce CPQ services into your project and purchasing hours to ensure you have a resource for best practices and architecture guidance throughout the project. Q: How do I install & maintain a developer instance of Salesforce CPQ?
A: You can find the install links for Salesforce CPQ here and for Salesforce Advanced Approvals (included with CPQ+) here. As these installs default as trials, you will need to request an extension of install via this form.
Q: Can we buy Salesforce CPQ for our own use here at our company?
A: Absolutely! Contact Seamus Egan to be put in touch with an Account Executive.
Q: How do I get more Salesforce CPQ projects?
A: CPQ Implementation Partners are evaluated based on the size/strength of their practice (# of trained and certified resources), how much experience they have implementing Salesforce CPQ and how successful they have been in implementing Salesforce CPQ. We collect information on live customers specifically for CPQ implementations here - please let us know if you have nay live customers we haven’t already tackled!
As always, communicating early and often both during the sales cycle (with the sales team) and during the implementation is paramount to long term success of a Salesforce CPQ practice.
Q: We have a prospect that requires a custom demo/trial/POC, what do we need to do here?
A: Your Salesforce CPQ AE can request a Demo instance for your use to serve as a foundation for your custom demo. Please ask him/her to request on your behalf to have new demo org created for you and ensure that you are well aligned with the Salesforce CPQ AE and Core AE on what use cases are absolutely necessary for closing the deal as well as expectations on timeline for delivery.
