Salesforce1 Mobile App for AppExchange Partners (ISV)

The Salesforce1 Mobile App is built and runs on Salesforce Platform and unifies Salesforce mobile offerings into one next generation app for Salesforce users. Salesforce1 is a mobile container that makes it easy for partners to deliver a mobile app or experience and give Salesforce users an easy way to do their job from their phone.
Key Features of Salesforce1 Mobile App
Create Apps Faster - From point-and-click apps to Visualforce and Canvas, create powerful, instantly mobile apps that work on multiple platforms. And since the Salesforce1 mobile app is ready to download from Apple AppStore and Google Play, you don’t have to worry about distribution hassles.

Program
Q: Is there an additional cost to include S1 features in my application?A: No. It is part of the program. However, you must be an AppExchange Partner (ISV) to build and deploy on Salesforce1.
A: No, it’s enabled right now.
Distribute
Q: How do my customers get the Salesforce1 features I develop?A: Customer will receive the update as soon as they install the package that contains your Salesforce1 features. Your customer will, of course, need to install the Salesforce1 app on their mobile device as well.
A: To get an AppExchange Partner (ISV) app to show up under App section of the left hand nav menu, you have two options: Visualforce Tabs or FlexiTab. A Visualforce tab will point to a Visualforce page. A Flexitab will point to a Flexipage. The customer admin must also add the app to Salesforce1. They do this by going to Salesforce1 Navigation in the Setup area called Mobile Administration.
Technology
Q: Can Salesforce1 be packaged?A: Yes.
A: Yes. The new Flexipages are upgradeable. Existing components such as Visualforce pages are also upgradeable.
A: Now.
A: You can build your own UI using Visualforce pages in the following areas:
:: Visualforce Tab
:: Custom Button target
:: Chatter Publisher Action target
:: Mobile card (think inline Visualforce component on a standard page layout, shorter height)
:: Inline Visualforce Pages
Q: Will the Visualforce pages I create be mobile-ready?
A: Only if you code them to be. It’s up to you to make your pages mobile-friendly. Ensure you select the option for the Visualforce page to be available on mobile.
A: No, but it does help to know HTML5 and be familiar with responsive design. Also, familiarize yourself with the concepts for publisher actions / global actions.
A: A Flexible Page is a type of custom layout. It occupies a middle ground between page layouts and Visualforce pages. Like a page layout, Flexible Pages allow you to add custom items to a page. However, they don’t have the same structure as a page layout, and the custom items are all components. You can use a Flexible Page to create a home page for your app. You can also assign global publisher actions to a Flexible Page by specifying them in the Flexible Page XML. When users tap from a Flexible Page, any global actions that you’ve assigned to it will show up in the publisher.
A: At this time it’s not possible to create Flexipages declaratively. You will need to create the metadata XML file using your favorite XML editor and deploy it via the metadata API to your DE org.
A: A qualified yes. You can change the order of the elements of a Flexipage. The currently supported elements are list views and recent items based on custom objects. See documentation for more details.
A: Yes. The layout will mimic the standard web page layout and will be automatically adapted to the mobile, responsive design.
A: It’s a hybrid app, one for iOS and one for Android. Both are available in their respective marketplaces (App Store, GooglePlay). It’s distributed and maintained by Salesforce.
A: No, an AppExchange Partner (ISV) must enable a new checkbox on each Visualforce Page called “Available for Salesforce mobile apps and Lightning Pages”. AppExchange Partners (ISV) can do this in their DE/packaging org and upload a new version of their package to push it out to their customers.
