Q: What is changing in the way you are working with Marketing Cloud Partners?
A: Salesforce Marketing Cloud resellers, referral partners and consulting partners are moving into the Salesforce Partner Program for Consulting Partners. HubExchange partners are moving into the AppExchange Partner Program.
Q: How long do current Marketing Cloud Partners have to make this shift?
A: Marketing Cloud resellers, referral partners and consulting partners will be added to the Salesforce Consulting Partner Program as provisional partners on June 30, 2016, and will have until June 30, 2017, to make the transition to the Salesforce Consulting Partner Program. New Marketing Cloud ISVs can join the Salesforce Partner Program today, and legacy HubExchange partners will have until Feb. 28, 2017 to make the transition into the AppExchange Partner Program.
Q: Do Marketing Cloud Partners get to keep their current benefits until that time?
A: Current Marketing Cloud Channel partners will continue to receive the same Marketing Cloud Channel Program benefits based on their current tiering through Feb. 28, 2017. In addition, as provisional members of the Salesforce Consulting Partner Program, they will be able to enjoy additional benefits including more technical and go to market support, based their respective tier, through June 30, 2017.
Q: What are the requirements of the Salesforce Partner Program for Consulting Partners? for AppExchange Partners? Each tier of the program has a different set of requirements.

Q: Why are you making these changes?
A: We’re making these changes because of customer and partner feedback. Customers have asked for more insight into partner capabilities and for more consistency across partner programs so that it’s easier for them to find the right partner for a given project. Salesforce has built the largest enterprise cloud ecosystem in the world, and as we’ve grown, our partners have asked for more clarity on program tiers, more enablement tools and support, and more ways to distinguish their unique capabilities in the marketplace. With this change, we have streamlined the customer and partner experience by combining multiple programs into a single Consulting Partner Program.
Q: How will partners benefit?
A: In three main ways:
- New opportunities: Marketing Cloud Partners who join the Consulting Partner Program will have access to increased services opportunities for Marketing Cloud deployments. And, they’ll have additional opportunities to increase cross-sell across other clouds.
- New designations: They’ll also be eligible to distinguish themselves as Marketing Cloud Masters. This will be tagged on their AppExchange listings and will be searchable on nextLevel, a new internal Salesforce tool that enables Salesforce account executives to quickly identify the best partner for a particular implementation.
- New program benefits: They’ll receive Salesforce Consulting Partner benefits relevant to their tier, such as Sales Cloud licenses, technical support case packs, go-to-market support and eligibility for Fullforce initiatives and Fast Forward Boot Camps delivered in-person in key cities around the world.
Q: Are all HubExchange partners moving to the AppExchange?
A: Yes, Salesforce will transition partners from the HubExchange onto the Salesforce AppExchange and into the AppExchange Partner Program. This will give these partners access to the world’s leading business apps marketplace. New Marketing Cloud ISVs can join the Salesforce Partner Program today, and legacy HubExchange partners will have until Feb. 28, 2017, to make the transition into the AppExchange Partner Program.
Q: Do existing Marketing Cloud partners need to take any action?
A: Current Marketing Cloud channel partners will be automatically added to the Salesforce Consulting Partner Program as provisional partners by June 30, 2016, and will have until June 30, 2017, to make the transition to the Salesforce Consulting Partner Program.
Q: How will customers be affected by this change?
A: Positively. Investments in our partner ecosystem ultimately translate to investments in customer success. We believe that by unifying our partner programs, customers will be able to more easily discover and select partners that match their needs based on expertise and tier.
