Environment Hub Overview
The Environment Hub is an important tool in the Partner Business Org that allows partners to view, connect, create, and log in to multiple Salesforce organizations from one location. It is especially helpful when using a large number of organizations for business, development, and testing. Review this page to learn how to set up Environment Hub for your company.
Did you know:
- - The Environment Hub is the only way that ISV partners can spin up a Partner Developer Org, which is used to build managed packages
- - As a best practice, one organization should be designated as the Environment Hub (or hub organization), which can then connect all your other organizations, or member organizations, to the hub
- - It is possible to have more than one hub (see FAQ for details)
- - You can establish single sign-on between the hub and member organizations, enabling users to seamlessly switch between them without having to provide login credentials
- - AppExchange Partners should never enable Environment Hub in the DE org that contains a managed package. This can cause issues when trying to upload a new package version or push an upgrade to customers.
Environment Hub should be enabled in an organization where all of your users have access. Ideally, this is your CRM organization or Partner Business Organization. Depending on your company’s needs, you have the option of enabling Environment Hub in more than one organization. For example, you might enable one hub to manage the organizations associated with a particular product line and use another hub to manage the organizations associated with a different line. In this case, all of your employees might not have access to the same hub. One solution is to enable a second or third Environment Hub in a test or Developer Environment to provide access to all necessary parties.
The Environment Hub main page displays a list of all member organizations connected to the hub. For each organization, its name, description, edition, organization ID, single sign-on status, and other details are displayed.
Q: I don't see Environment Hub enabled in the org I want to use as my hub. How do I enable it?
A: Please submit a case here >
Q: I have Environment Hub, but when I try to create a new org I don't see any partner org options in my drop-down menu?
A: This means that you only have the general Environment Hub. You must submit a case in the Partner Community to request partner options.
Q: Do I need to use My Domain to enable Environment Hub?
A: No. My Domain is not required. However, if you don’t set up My Domain, you can’t connect existing orgs to the Environment Hub or use Single Sign-on to log in to member orgs. Salesforce recommends setting up My Domain when you configure the Environment Hub.

Q: Can I have multiple hubs?
A: Yes. You have the option of enabling Environment Hub in more than one organization. For example, you might enable one hub in Partner Business Org to manage demo organizations for the sales team and use another hub in a Developer Org to manage development organizations. In this case, all of your employees might not have access to the same hub.
Q: Can an organization be a member of multiple hubs?
A: No. An org can only be connected to one Environment Hub at a time. In order to break the connection, simply delete the org from the Environment Hub using the "Delete" button. After deleting the associated org, that same org can then be associated to another Environment Hub.
Q: Can I disable Environment Hub?
A: Once enabled, Environment Hub cannot be turned off. However, you can hide the Environment Hub from users. Go to Setup and enter App Menu in to the Quick Find box, then select App Menu. From the App Menu, you can choose whether to hide an app or make it visible.
Q: Can I use my Trialforce Template ID to create customized organizations from the “Create Organization” page in Environment Hub?
A: Yes. All you need to do is enter the ID in the “Template ID” field on “Create Organization” page in Environment Hub. Please note that all templates for distribution must pass Salesforce Security Review.
Q: How is locale determined for the orgs I created in the Environment Hub?
A: Your Salesforce user locale determines the default locale of orgs that you create. For example, if your user locale is set to English (United Kingdom), that is the default locale for the orgs you create. In this way, the orgs you create are already customized for the regions where they reside.
Q: Where can I find Nonprofit trial orgs? I do not see this option in Environment Hub.
A: Please request a 30 day free trail of the Nonprofit Success Pack, then submit a case in the Partner Community to request an extension for that trial org.
